A Recipe for Self Healing
Self healing should be done with a holistic approach in the sense that it will cover the multitude of areas that make you whole – body, mind, and soul.
Often when you go to a doctor, they will focus on your physical health which is why it’s important to create self-care that will focus upon deeper issues of our well-being.
Here are some suggestions we have for designing a personalized self-healing program. Stay flexible and approach your healing as an experiment in living.
1. Eat Well
Our food is our fuel. If we are not eating well, we most likely will not operate at our highest potential.
Don’t go through the day feeling sluggish and drained when instead you could be feeding yourself foods that will nourish your body, mind, and soul to help you feel vibrant and energized! Some of these foods will include fruits, vegetables, healthy fats such as avocados, nuts and seeds. Fresh produce especially carries a high vibration that will satisfy cravings and uplift your spirits!
2. Think Positively
Our thoughts and words carry power. What we focus on expands. Therefore, each time we replace a negative thought with positive ones, we train our mind to be more optimistic overall.
You may be thinking, it’s no big deal if we have bad thoughts throughout the day, right? However, it’s important to realize that it’s even been proven that negative thoughts can harm us. The human body is made up of over 50 TRILLION cells. Each is bathed in the blood chemistry of the thoughts you think and the emotions you feel.
For example, if you are scared, your cells are bathed in adrenaline. When you are in love, they are bathed in oxytocin.
That’s why it’s important to choose to think positive thoughts that lead to positive feelings, especially if you are on a journey of self healing. Your cells will physically reflect what you are feeding them mentally and emotionally.
Eventually, your thoughts will switch naturally if you stay consistent with this practice. Not only will you notice the difference in your mind, but also in your life! A mind full of good thoughts helps to birth miracles and serendipity in life!
3. Focus on One Small Change at a Time
To be on a journey of self healing is beautiful. It means that regardless of where you are in the process, you are in a state of awareness and opening yourself to learn and evolve.
Let go of feelings of self-doubt or guilt about the past. Ground yourself in the present and be proud that you have made it this far!
One small change at a time can always lead to significant changes for the future!
Give yourself time, but also have a clear vision of goals with dedicated timelines to keep yourself accountable.
4. Believe in Yourself
We’re here to remind you that you CAN do anything you set your mind to!
The mind is incredibly powerful which is why the quality of your beliefs is important.
We’ve all heard of the placebo effect. Simply by believing that something is good for you, has been proven to have positive effects.
5. Eliminate Stress
Stress is the silent killer. It depletes us and can develop into autoimmune dysfunctions, adrenal burnout, chronic pain, diseases of the heart, and even cancer.
In fact, some say that stress is the reason for dis-ease in the body.
Because it’s not something we can see, we don’t always notice the deep ways in which it is affecting not only our lives but our bodies as well.
To eliminate stress in your life, start taking note of what may be causing it. Certain activities, people, having too much on your plate, etc. Then see how you can shift this.
That may involve seeking support. You’d be surprised to learn the different ways your peace and happiness can be supported by others. Don’t feel like you need to do it all on your own. It’s a weight far too heavy for our shoulders to carry alone.
6. Remember that You are Important!
Place your right hand over your heart. Feel that? Your heartbeat, the fact that you are alive – that means you serve a purpose. You are here for a reason.
Some people feel disempowered with their existence and fear that their lives don’t matter. This is a horrible illusion!
We each have a gift, something good to offer humanity and this planet. Have faith.
Through self-care, you will awaken to your unique gifts.
7. Practice Self-Love
Love is the highest vibration.
When we live in the love vibration, our energy resonates at a high frequency and we express the God-qualities of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, respect, generosity, joy, peace—all that inspires, empowers and enhances life. The love vibration lifts us to a higher state of being and frees us of thoughts, feelings, and actions that minimize and victimize us.
You can practice self-love by making more time for yourself and what you love, treating yourself to nourishing meals, taking a relaxing bath, spending time in nature, exercising, meditating / praying, and more.
This is perhaps the most important step in self healing.
8. Appreciate your Body
Inside our body, there are countless functions occurring simultaneously every moment.
Do you realize how much your body loves you?
It’s always fighting to keep you alive. You are all your body has to live for. Your body makes sure you breathe while you sleep, stops cuts from bleeding, fixes broken bones, and finds ways to beat illnesses that may attack.
Your body loves you so much. Are you loving your body back?
